Jannis Kounellis

Jannis Kounellis (born in 1936) is a Greek contemporary artist based in Rome. He is known for his installations in the Arte Povers movement. His installations are concerned with the space between art and life as well as nature and culture.
The installations are often made of everyday objects, such as old jackets, stones, scrap metal and shoes. The installations have simple powerful elements which clearly are correlated to the political and everyday life in European history.

I have derived the monochrome color pallet and the simple repetitive elements from Jannis installations and created two patterns, both half drop repeat patterns by hand. The patterns are represented in two color ways in watercolors.
